Vision Set for the Ned2 Robot Arm
Niryo has also chosen to equip its Ned2 robot arm with a vision set, for color object detection and recognition.

Description:

Vision set: new future uses for your Ned2

The Ned2 robot arm vision set is a robotic vision module that attaches to the wrist of your Ned2 robot.

It consists of a Sony IMX322 color camera and various accessories: objects in different shapes and colors, a workspace and all the necessary materials for connecting and attaching your on-board camera.

The workspace is designed to operate flat, vertically or on a slope. It will stick to any surface you place it on, while remaining repositionable to adapt to your needs.

Once installed, you can use the vision set to make Ned2 choose and handle objects based on their shape or color.

Setting up your vision set: Niryo Studio or a TCP script

Once you’ve activated your vision set, you can choose between two programming modes:

  • Niryo Studio is a programming environment designed for Niryo lab creations. It’s a visual, intuitive interface inspired by Blockly, simply choose and move blocks to determine how your robot arm behaves.
  • If you want to program your vision set using another language of your choice, you can also write a TCP script in the robot’s client/server environment.

Either method will allow you to use the Ned2 detection camera in a robotics class or workshop, or even an industrial R&D laboratory.
